Preferred Networks Appoints Dr. Vincent Sitzmann of MIT as Technical Advisor
Preferred Networks, Inc. (PFN) has appointed Dr. Vincent Sitzmann, a Postdoctoral Associate at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as a technical advisor to the company, effective December 16, 2020.
Dr. Sitzmann is an expert in neural scene representation, an exciting emerging field that uses neural networks to learn an efficient way to represent three dimensional objects and scenes. Dr. Sitzmann has published several notable papers at top conferences with over 100 citations, pioneering implicit neural scene representations and attracting attention as a rising star in the field.
With the addition of Dr. Sitzmann as a technical advisor, PFN will strengthen its research in scene representation and 3D model reconstruction from 2D images in its pursuit of the “Make the Real World Computable” vision.
Vincent Sitzmann is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT CSAIL). He obtained his Ph.D from Stanford University under the advisorship of Gordon Wetzstein.
